Restoration, Decals & Photography
I have always had a passion for vintage French bicycles. I feel in love with this 1950s Gitane track frame on eBay and purchased it for complete restoration project. Once the Frame’s graphics were carefully documented, I proceeded to remove the frames finish back to the raw steel. While I was tearing down and refinishing the frame, I recreated the graphics and had new decal sheets made. The decals were applied just before the first of many clear coats were sprayed. I hand built the wheels and I also polished each hub and all spokes to a mirror finish. I then art directed and photo corrected the photography shoot.
pre restoration
Once the Frame’s graphics were carefully documented, I proceeded to remove the frames current finish back to the raw steel and prepare the frame for primer and paint.
decals
While I was tearing down and refinishing the frame, I digitally recreated the graphics and had new decal sheets made by a small specialty shop. The decals were applied after primer and paint and before the first of many clear coats.
